You are pre-registering a student in an Opportunities For Learning public charter school. Once you complete this pre-registration you must take additional steps to complete registration and officially enroll the student. A checklist of additional steps will be provided once you complete pre-registration.
If you are registering your student for year-round school you will be required to schedule an in-person benchmark assessment for the student, followed by an in-person registration appointment. All year-round students must complete a benchmark assessment prior to scheduling the registration appointment that will be attended by the parent/guardian, student and staff representative. Students and their parents/guardians are required to attend both appointments in-person (unless the student is over 18 years of age). In addition, at the registration appointment, parents/guardians will be required to sign and submit forms to complete the enrollment process with Opportunities For Learning.
The staff representative at the registration appointment will be a teacher or center coordinator. The meeting will include an assessment of the student’s transcript and assignment of initial course units, a review of the student’s enrollment paperwork and documents, an explanation of graduation requirements and the master agreement for enrollment, student’s appointment schedule, and teacher assignment. The registration appointment will take approximately one to two hours. If needed, a follow up appointment will be scheduled to complete any outstanding enrollment procedures.
Summer school students are not required to complete an in-person benchmark assessment.
A student is not officially enrolled until ALL enrollment procedures are completed in person.
